Quality of Essential Oils

When I started in oils I literally would buy the cheapest oil I could find on Amazon or at my local drug store... like I can remember once find a 4oz. bottle of Eucalyptus for $5.99 and thinking SCORE!... not so much... I learned that even brands that market themselves as 100% therapeutic grade aren't necessarily quality oils and that you have go to be careful and do your research.

So many things like synthetic additives can be added during the process of bottling oils. Essential Oil Farms may use harsh pesticides and weed killer. Good regulation of essential oils currently doesn't exist to the standards it should (kinda like how the FDA doesn't regulate beauty or cosmetic ingredients.)

As I became more familiar with oils the one brand that rose high among the crowd was Young Living. Their promise of quality is referred to as Seed to Seal:


The Young Living difference guarantees authentic products. It is a multi-step process and if at any point during these steps they feel a product is compromised they will not put it on the market. They truly believe in quality over profit so if they identify something in a batch that doesn't meet their standards that oil/product may be out of stock for a while until a new batch is finished. 


So when you are looking into essential oil brands here are some questions you should ask and the companies should be able to answer:
